Transcript[]
*the recording starts with someone filming a brick building, trees, a path (presumably a school), there is a cut and we see someone filming a spider, and to the left and below it is an arrow and under it is written "Spider", a cut, someone is driving in a car and filming trees (or a forest), another cut, and we see someone in a car turn down the music and we hear a fragment from the news.*
Radio: "We just turned in- the Oklahoma City bombi-"
*the recording cuts to a festival at night*
Unknown woman: "Over there, you can see the Ferris wheel. Over on the right is the food... Straight ahead is the agricultural barn..."
there is a splice of the recording, someone is recording a grid (a fence?) and in the background a girl is talking to someone. splice, after the splice we see a fragment from a concert of some (presumably Irish) group that plays the fiddle. after another splice we see presumably the end of the concert, people are clapping in the background. there is a splice, someone is filming a girl and some kind of grid fence walking towards a ride. After the splice we see a house with an American flag, while people are talking in the background. after the splice we see the protagonist Ravi who is recording something in fast forward, and then he tells the story.
Ravi (onwards until 37:44): "-back to the hotel that night and listening to the footage, I realized I recorded a Monsanto exec. joking with a DPR manager about a sick kid referring to "it" as the bug-eyed one. And, sure, I like making fun of diseased kids as much as the next guy, but right after that, one of them basically admitted to fault, which, mind you, they aren't doing publicly at all. They said something along the lines of, well, hey, if we accidentally push out the entire county, you might just get that ranch you've been wanting."
[there is a fast forward and Ravi says] "Fuckin' hell man..."
after that, Ravi goes to some house at almost fast forward, after the cut, we hear Ravi calling someone.
[...] "sorry... [audio lag] This is Ravi. I’m the tenant in the upstairs of Fairmont. Yeah. Yeah, that's me. I'm just calling to ask to see if there's anybody supposed to be checking out the downstairs today. [...] Okay, so no, like, maintenance or anything?" (during that time, banging noises can be heard)
Ravi eventually go downstairs to investigate the situation
"Hey! [...] Someone there?"
Ravi starts to go down to the basement and seeing the broken window says
"Ooh... fuck me. Ooh...shit"
he turns around, glances at the closet and walks up to it
Hey, someone here?
Ravi turns the lamps on and off a couple of times, until he eventually looks inside the closet
Hey! *opens the closet door and looks around* Someone there?
Ravi goes back and turns around and sees a poster of arnold schwarzenegger from the early 80's (presumably). Ravi goes into the garage, and turns on the light, going further, he notices a hole in the brick wall with a yellow light
What the hell...
Ravi starts walking into this hole. when he steps on the brick floor, creaking noises are heard
*gasp* Fuck-
Ravi turns around and a light appears behind him and literally immediately after that, falls into the Backrooms.
"What the HE-" *launched through the floor*
Ravi is launched out of a roof cabinet
[audio glitching] A- А- А-A- AAAAAA! OH MY GOD!-
he hits the ground and an office chair
*audible coughing and panting*
Ravi gets up and grabs the camera
"What- what- what... the..."
Ravi looks around in awe.
Ravi tries to climb back up the hole he fell from, only to realize there is an impossible slope to get through
*breathing heavily* What the fuck...
Ravi returns to the office-like setting and starts exploring
"For the record, I did not know this was here..."
Ravi leaves the room and enters another.
"I don't understand, how is this even here?"
Ravi heads to another conference room and looks around only to see a door with bricks on the other side,
"What the fuck."
Ravi moves towards a dark hallway
"Fucking hell."
Ravi sees a door at the end of the hallways, only to notice it's locked.
"The fuck? You're kidding me. You're serious?"
As Ravi moves out the hallway, the lights suddenly turn on, causing him to become puzzled. Nevertheless, he continues on to another room that appears to be a living room.
"What the fuck is... where- this is soo weird."
Ravi finds himself at an empty room with a dining table. and a small passage that leads to a room with six seats in a circle and an opening at the top.
What the the fuck kind of place is this? What is this even meant for? *looks up the fake sky* This isn't the- I don't see where this could be above ground.
He moves up a spiral staircase to try get through that hatch when he suddenly sees a hidden passageway behind a closet.
"Is there-" *pushes the closet and then tries to fit through*
he walks through the aisle and ends up in an area with a playmat floor at the entrance
"Heh."
A jumpcut occurs, and we see himself in a more orangish-room with a door to the right.
"What? There's a furniture store now?"
Ravi heads to the door (with an exit sign read above)
"Oh- finally.."
turns out it leads to another area where it is more dark with a door at the end of that room
*sighs* I don't fucking like this." *walks slowly and faces the camera to multiple chairs jamming a garage door* okay...
[as he reaches that door he prays] "This better be an exit."
on the other side is another even more darker and messier room with books on the floor that reads out a weird pattern and a speaker playing unhinged music. Ravi focuses more on the smaller hatch to the left.
"O-Oh. Oh my god-"
suddenly a noise can be heard to the right in the dark area. Ravi, very scared, decides to run back to where he went from. Audible footsteps can be heard as he is leaving, forcing him to turn around.
*gasp* *panting* "I'm trying to leave! I-" *stammering* "I don't want any trouble." *fearful breathing*
He reaches the door he originally came from and looks back before closing it off. And he backs away slowly. Suddenly a noise can be heard in the door with a knocking following shortly after.
"HELLO?"
the door is then being banged through repeatedly by an unknown being.
"HEY!?"
after seeing the door being pushed out leaving a gap, Ravi chooses to run away swiftly as the unknown entity continues to bang through the door and then breaks through. Luckily, Ravi manages to find a room and close the door before the entity manages to catch his sight. He continues to run, taking the left path and finding himself through a gangway in the crimson corridor, looking like an outdoor area with high-rise.
What the fuck- what the fuck! *obvious panicking*
Ravi finds a very irregular shaped room and a house over the grid wall. He sees a light switch on the wall and switches it, turning all the lights on. But then he hears a noise from the entity coming from behind, so he quickly goes to turn off the light and jumps down the ledge and goes towards the darkness, as the entity follows his last trace. Ravi remains dead silent as he finds a way to escape. Then the lights turn on again, indicating that the entity switched it back on. Luckily, the entity fails to find the protagonist, and leaves as Ravi sneaks to another area.
Ravi made sure to turn around in case he is ambushed. As he continues, he finds another room looking like an open-top house with little furniture, resembling an Ikea section. The floors noticeably makes a creaking wood noise. Ravi then takes the ladder to view a higher distance, but sees nothing for escape.
Ravi moves though another passageway with white walls and hears upbeat music in the distance. As he travels towards it, it reveals a big room with currently active speakers and two hallways at the end of the hallway.
*Ravi sees a poster* "What's this?"
the camera cuts to the speaker rooms, and Ravi takes the right path, finding a radio station he could use and a very steep ledge. Ravi then attempts to use the radio to call for help.
*sighs* "Okay... okay. Alright, let's see.... let's see. Come on, come on...."
(the camera cuts to Ravi's attempts at receiving a signal)
"Radio check, radio check. Is anyone copying? Radio check, radio check, do you cop-" *another cut* "Testing, 1, 2, 3. Hello, hello? [2]" [...] "Does anybody copy?"
Ravi then notices he stopped the music from the speaker rooms, thinking help is being called upon.
"Yes, yes! Yes.... alright."
Ravi then heads towards the other side of the speaker room and investigates the noises. He then sees a wooden door, and opens it, only to reveal the beginning of the room, realising he's gone around in circles, but even then, he hears broadcasting from there.
Suddenly, a loud banging noise is heard, getting Ravi's attention. He quickly shuts the door and goes back to where he came from, investigating the noise.
"Shit, fuck, shit, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck..." *panting as he runs across the room*
In a turn of events, a Still Life on the other side of the large speaker room barrages towards Ravi.
*gasp* AH- STAY THE FUCK BACK! *panicking* GET AWAY! *panicking* GET AWAY!
Ravi goes through a small hatch and blocks off the entrance before the Still Life got to him. He takes one break of relief before moving on.
A jumpcut happens, and Ravi finds himself at (presumably) a shrine with a Mao Zedong poster. He continues onwards and sees a big fan on the roof. He then finds a door to an empty space and a big office room which has a window of the outside, and as he goes outside, he seemingly notices the infinite complex of the entire place, and begins to show worryness that he might not get out alive.
Ravi finds a path to another gangway to the otherside of the crimson corridor, where the empty space there is more yellowish. he the sees a small ledge and discovers the same room he went through earlier. But he continues onward, and only discovers a card cutout of a caveman. Ravi finally gets himself in a white office space, and then into a similar room, albeit more lighter. On the other side of the door is an actual home, to which he goes inside.
As Ravi peeks inside the house, he sees footsteps, noticing the existence of life here. But as he continues into the living room, he hears distant chattering.
Unknown father: [unintelligible speaking for some time can't caption it though] "...all aboard the mannequins have gone, but, but.... one way or another, just [???] because we are... we're cleaning things up. Our place is empty right now, but we got a few things to look in at, and uhhh-"
Ravi approaches a door in the living room.
Unknown father: You know it would be helpful if you could [???] at anything and have a look at it, but umm [???] we gotta get out here. There's litter in there [???}."
Ravi: What the hell...
Unknown father: [???]
Ravi: Hello?
Unknown father: Hold on, sorry, I think there's someone downstairs. *walks down the stairs* Someone out there?
Ravi: I'm sorry. I don't where I am; I need help!
Unknown father: You're in private property. You need to leave.
Ravi: Uh- I'm trying, okay. I don't wanna be here-
Unknown father: Are you the guy who keeps coming around here trying to talk to my boys?
Ravi: What? No! My name is Ravi, sir. I'm not trying to cause you any trouble. I'm just lost.
Unknown father: My family's trying to sleep. Leave, or I'm calling the police! If you need help, there is a station quarter mile down the road.
Ravi: LISTEN! I CAN'T! I've been walking for like nine fucking hours man. Where the hell are we, I can't even see you!
(silence)
Ravi: Actually, DO call the cops. That's fine. Just PLEASE help me out here.
(more silence)
Ravi: Hello?
Unknown father: Where are you?
Ravi: Wh-what?
Unknown father: Where the hell are you? I just looked outside and I don't see you.
Ravi: I'm not- *sigh*
