Backrooms - Lighting and Tile Survey is a horror short film and the twentieth video in Kane Pixels' Backrooms series. The footage follows as an unknown Async member records the findings above the ceiling and a new character, Dr. Julia Meisner, examines the light and ceiling tiles.
Plot[]
This video was set at November 14, 1989, which in chronological order is the first video after First Contact. No named characters were mentioned in this video, except Dr. Julia Meisner, who was introduced in this video.
This video begins as the cameraman enters the Complex through an airlock set up in front of the Threshold. A guide proceeds to tell the cameraman where to go.
In the next clip, one researcher climbs a ladder leading to the ceiling, while another person assists him. The footage then cuts to still images on a blue background showing a series of images, from lifting up a ceiling tile to removing it. The video then cuts to the cameraman examining the area above the ceiling, which contains insulation and ventilation for what appears to be another floor above.
The following day, Dr. Julia Meisner conducts a survey on the light and tile. She later presented the preliminary results of the survey, where it was noted that the objects in question had non-standard dimensions. Along with that, several labels were found on the light's components, which indicated that the ballast was manufactured in 1975, the troffer was manufactured in 1973 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and the bulbs were manufactured by Sylvania. The ballast was determined to operate at 120 Hz with no traceable external power source, and its wiring appeared to draw power autonomously.
