"Compromise is the death of innovation" - Ivan Beck Ivan Beck is the vice director of the Async Research Institute and presumably the one who proposed the idea for the Backrooms. He held a press conference in April of 1988 where he talked about the new project. He described the then undiscovered dimension as a solution to all current and future storage needs. He was present during the interview with a doctor who performed the autopsy on Nicolas Bolton, and the baffled doctor asked where the body came from. He is very serious about the project and will not abandon it no matter the cost. Not much is currently known about him.

- Ivan Beck has Memory Loss because of a solar flare that was happening during the same time as Backrooms - Overflow which led to him losing vision in one eye.
- In an interview with Wendigang, Kane Pixels revealed that Ivan Beck is the main protagonist of the Backrooms series. Kane also clarified that "protagonist is a loose term, though.". Moments later, when asked who/what the antagonist of the series is, Kane replied again that it indeed is Ivan Beck.
- On July 5, 2022, Kane posted a video titled IVN on his second channel, Not Kane Pixels. The title suggests the man seen in the video image is Ivan Beck.
- According to deleted screenshots that were originally from Kane, Ivan Beck was born to Doris and Antonin Beck on July 16, 1931 in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia.
