Meadow Outland Steppes, or simply the Meadow, is a large grassy plain and serves as the central setting for the People Still Live Here series, functioning almost as a parallel dimension. This expansive parallel realm is characterized by its seemingly endless grass fields and overly rounded hills, with some areas filled with scattered trees and wind turbines. Among its vast expanse lie a variety of structures, including scattered buildings, and many windmills. It is said to be accessible via derelict structure in Northern California.
History[]
The history of the Meadow remains unknown, but one clue lies in the revelation that the Overgrown Man once instructed Clifton J. Saywell to explore it as a child. He had always wondered what he meant by that, However, as time passed, its meaning became clear, leading him to venture into the Meadow between 1934 and 1946.
Theories and Speculation[]
- It is speculated that Meadow Outland Steppes was created by the Shepherd.
- The Meadow also seems to be accessible from another derelict structure in a swamp, as shown in People Still Live Here V8.3 (2005 Gameplay).
- This swamp is theorized to be the Hockomock Swamp, which Clifton J. Saywell was often seen walking around.
