The Observation Room is an outpost created by Async in the Complex. It is located right next to the Threshold entrance to the Async Research Facility. Access to it is restricted to authorized personnel only.
The room contains ceiling lights that dim once the Threshold barrier is closed. This also activates motion sensors that trigger whenever an intruder enters.
History[]
The Observation Room began construction sometime between March 1 and March 5 of 1990, and finished around May 6.
On May 8, 1990, James Watkins and an unnamed female representative from the Department of Energy (DOE) went into the Observation Room while being toured by a senior engineer of Async.
Just the same day, while Async was negotiating with the DOE, Peter Tench discovered and entered the Observation Room. Although he used his keycard, the room's motion sensors were still set off since the Threshold barrier was closed. Async was seemingly able to handle this disturbance without raising any suspicion from the DOE.
After the events of Reunion, Peter, armed with Mark Blume's shotgun, threatened employees inside of the Observation Room before entering into the Async Research Facility and making a run for the exit.
