People Still Live Here V8.3 (2005 Gameplay) is the first "main" episode in the People Still Live Here series.
Plot[]
The video is centralized around a supposedly "lost" video game which aims to recreate the events experienced by Clifton J. Saywell in playable format. These events are not explicitly described, but can be determined to closely resemble what the game depicts later in the video.
The video begins with a dedication to the late Clifton J. Saywell before a title screen appears. Once the game is began, the player spawns in a sectioned off forest with a monument in front of them and a bridge behind them. The player enters the monument and walks through a hallway, transporting them to the Meadow.
A short cutscene plays before a Task appears on-screen giving the player instructions to collect three items in the Meadow before returning home; the tasked items being a Wanpum, a Watch, and a Compressor. An exploration ensues as the player begins to search for these items. The Watch is found first, being near the starting area. The Wanpum is found next, being discovered on a bench surrounding a water fountain atop a hill, and finally the Compressor is found in a building far out from the Meadow's entry point.
Whist searching for the tasked items, the player encounters a Crossing Signal, which speeds by much faster than the player is able to move.
Whilst inside of the building in which the Compressor is found, the player also encounters a person in a Striped Shirt, who claims to have been trapped inside of the building. When the player leaves the building, they are met outside with the Striped Shirt man once more, who is now standing outside of the fences surrounding the building. While speaking to the player, the man is abducted abruptly by the Crossing Signal seen earlier, which now appears to have turned hostile.
After witnessing this, the player decides to return to the entrance of the Meadow.
As the player approaches the entrance, the Crossing Signal can be seen slowly getting closer, now chasing after the player. The player manages to make it back to the entrance without being presumably "captured" by the Crossing Signal, marking the end of the Day, and the end of the video.
Trivia[]
- The corporate building in the video looks noticeably similar to the one seen on the cover of Kane Pixels's song "Servers".
- The Shepherd can be seen at 16:41 hiding in the background.
