The Oldest View - Renewal is a short film by Kane Pixels, and the first video in The Oldest View series. It was uploaded to YouTube on March 18th, 2023.

Summary[]

The film fades in to a single flower in a forest, where Julien Reverchon kneels down to pick the flower and sniff on it. Thunder is heard as Julien gets up and observes his surroundings, he is seen walking through the forest and comes across a fallen log by a water stream. Julien sits on the log and takes out a book from his pocket to read, the film then starts to look towards the sky through the trees and the screen slowly gets darker.

The film then shows pieces of cardboard being measured and cut up by Kevin Obregón, a drawing shows what appears to be an elongated head. One scene shows a view from inside the craft showing flowers being carried by who is believed to also be Obregón. A view is shown of the completed craft, being the same as shown on the drawing as the film ends.

Trivia[]

  • The scene with Julien in the forest is shot entirely in monochrome green, the reason for this is unknown.
  • The second half of the video is a remake of the process of Kevin Obregón creating what would later be known as the Rolling Giant.
